Shuttle Driver - Punta Gorda
Cheney Brothers is looking for hard-working, motivated individuals to join our transportation team.
We are searching for a reliable shuttle driver to transport trailers to domicile yards. As a driver for Cheney Brothers, you will safely and efficiently operate commercial motor vehicles in transit. Our drivers must have a positive, and friendly attitude.
Job Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Expected to conduct a pre- and post-trip inspection.
- Read route sheets thoroughly.
- Ensure pallets are secured before moving off.
- Temperature screening on units.
- Communicate with immediate supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 21+ years of age.
- Must hold Class A or B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a favorable driving record.
- Must have a Hazmat Endorsement or be able to obtain one.
- Must have doubles and triples endorsement.
- 1-year minimum tractor/trailer driving experience preferred.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must have verifiable employment or explanation for unemployment for the last 10 years.
- Must be able to lift heavy weight (up to 100 lbs.); push, pull freight or other equipment weighing up to 500 lbs. with equipment assistance; twist, turn, climb and reach frequently, and hook and unhook commercial vehicle combinations.
- Must have the ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Must have flexibility regarding hours worked – overtime as required, weekends and holidays.
- Must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
