Cheney Brothers is looking for hard-working, motivated individuals to join our transportation team in the following areas: Tampa, Winter Haven, Ft Myers, Sarasota, Naples, Punta Gorda and Hudson, FL.

We have immediate openings for drivers.  As a driver for Cheney Brothers, you will safely and efficiently operate commercial motor vehicles in transit. Our drivers must have a positive, friendly attitude, and possess great customer service skills.

Requirements:

• 21+ years of age.
• Must hold Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a favorable driving record.
• Must have a Hazmat Endorsement or be able to obtain one.
• 1 year minimum tractor/trailer driving experience preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must have verifiable employment or explanation for unemployment for the last 10 years.
• Must be able to lift heavy weight (up to 100 lbs); push, pull freight or other equipment weighing up to 500 lbs with equipment assistance; twist, turn, climb and reach frequently, and hook and unhook commercial vehicle combinations.
• Must have the ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must be highly dependable, trustworthy and honest.
• Must have flexibility regarding hours worked – overtime as required, weekends and holidays.
• Must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
